This house was designed to be built in phases. It is buiIt upon a raised deck and has multiple wings, which can be built one at a time.. The structure and finishes are mostly wood, glass and large screens.

“The site is flat, humid agricultural land in a very rainy part of the island, with views to the Kalihiwai Reservoir and the distant mountains. I decided to raise the house and build it on top of a large wood deck, with openings between the planks for air circulation. The roof has openings under the ridges, which create a constant draft, cooling the house. The Client requested large decks and a water feature, accessible from the master bedroom, that doubles as a soaking pool.”
